Electric Circuit Laboratory

The electrical engineering department dedicates laboratory space for students to perform basic experiments in electrical circuit analysis. The spaces can accommodate around 18 students. One experiment per session is performed with nine experiments in total. The laboratory space contains enough oscilloscopes, function generators, DC power supplies, digital multimeters, and breadboards to properly perform the experiments. Students are provided with the necessary electrical components, such as resistors, capacitors, etc, at the beginning of each lab session.

Experiments :

  • Resistor value determination, Ohm’s law.
  • Equivalent resistors’ circuit (series/parallel)
  • Kirchhoff’s laws for DC circuits and power dissipation Network theorems.
  • Network analysis and theorems.
  • Thévenin’s theorem and the maximum power transfer.
  • Charging and discharging a capacitor (DC).
  • Electrical circuits’ lab devices and instruments.
  • The effects of the frequency in the (AC) circuit:
  • Resistance, inductance and capacitance.
  • Variable resistor with RL/RC in series/parallel (AC) circuit.
  • Resonance (AC) circuit – series/parallel (RLC) tuned circuit.
